Google just informed me I’m older than Sesame Street. I’m not really sure how to take that. I mean, I grew up with Sesame Street, but I didn’t realize I grew up with Sesame Street.

Title pretty much says it all…

In years past, as it approached the Christmas Season, everyone was really busy, and unable to attend, so we usually just called my High School Small Group off. But, this year things are different, and I have a firm commitment from several students who want to meet the week just before Christmas day. Just to complicate things, this Sunday I’m running sound all morning for a service my students won’t attend. This makes it really hard to prepare a discussion centered around Sunday’s topics when I don’t even get to know what lessons they’ve been presented.
For whatever reason, this year the number of students who can’t drive significantly outnumbers those who can. And, of those few who can, unlike years past, even fewer are willing/able/permitted to help out their non-driving peers (for some, it almost seems like a insurmountable burden, which is unfortunate, because for quite some time, they were the ones in need of rides). As a result, I’ve ended up moving more students than in years past.

So, after about 5 years of great service from AT&T something changed about two months ago (October 2004). I had started calling my friend Jeremy in Fresno, and realized I was getting close to my 400 min/month. So, I called up the friendly folks at AT&T and explained my dilemma. Well, turns out I qualified for several promotions: Free calls to other AT&T customers and an additional 400+ minutes a month. Woo Hoo, I signed up.
This last week, I’ve began the process of moving the house phone lines to a VoIP solution. There are two motivations: reduced cost & long distance. I chose Vonage as several of my co-workers are using it.
